Adam is the Co-Founder and CEO of Afficionado Coffee Roasters. With a background in finance, Adam oversees the daily operations of Afficionado and acts as the company's lead visionary. He founded Afficionado Coffee Roasters in 2008 with a homemade roaster, selling at local farmers markets. Since then he has nurtured the company through the chaotic industry landscape, never compromising his initial principles and bootstrap approach. When he’s not traveling the world visiting the farms, Adam loves sailing, snowboarding, cooking, gardening and flying small airplanes. His ideal coffee is the Guatemala Asdelflor, at sunrise, through a v60 pour over.
Peter Turso
Peter Turso is a James Beard recognized chef with a diverse background spanning fine dining, hotel and resort production, as well as recipe development for corporate entities. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Turso is inspired by the unexpected depth and infinite nuance that can be found in coffee. Leveraging his chef’s palate, he participates at every level of coffee production, from farming to harvesting to roasting by hand here in New Jersey. He hopes that his dedication proves itself in every sip, and that coffee enhances your journey, wherever life takes you. And bring a camera! Outside of work, Chef T enjoys being in nature: gardening, hiking, and snowboarding. He is an amateur photographer and pretty decent guitarist.
John Michael Beam
John Michael Beam started with Afficionado back in 2010 as a field associate, cultivating a diverse network throughout New York and New Jersey. Today, John Michael is Afficionado's VP of Sales, overseeing all market segments. He enjoys spontaneous travel and anything outdoors - especially mountain biking, boating, and snowboarding. John Michael rotates through the Afficionado coffee portfolio, but always prefers a fresh pour over.
Paul Merces
Paul Merces is a co-founder of Afficionado Coffee Roasters and now oversees all roasting of green coffee. Born and raised in Holmdel, NJ, Paul decided to leave the family business to pursue a life in coffee in 2007. In his free time he enjoys running, boating, mountain biking, and spending quality time with family and friends. His go-to coffee is an Aileron pour over with milk during the colder months and Magical Cold Brew in the summer.
Joe Bailey
Born and raised in Indiana, Joe studied Visual Communications and Studio Art at Loyola University in Chicago. After stints as a touring bassist and a graphic designer in the jewelry industry, Joe joined Afficionado as Creative Director in 2019. In his free time he likes to see live music, explore new neighborhoods, and play card games. He drinks Magical Cold Brew all year round, and prefers a hot Rwanda Ngoma brew in the colder winter months.
Art Ferrono
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Art earned his Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management in upstate New York at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In his free time, he loves playing golf or playing pool as a member of a league for over 25 years. He is also an avid fisherman and a big fan of baseball and football. Art's favorite coffee is the Aileron blend, which cups like ice cream with a creamy texture and taste.
Chris Scibor
Born and raised in Freehold, NJ, Chris is Afficionado's Chief Operating Officer. In his free time Chris enjoys hanging with friends, playing golf and watching TV shows. His favorite pour over coffee is Ethiopia Hamma Collective.
Chris Ramsay
Chris is Afficionado's Lead Customer Success Manager for the New Jersey area.
Nick Timionerie
As the Warehouse Manager, Nick oversees the day to day operations for all outgoing coffee orders. With a background in music, Nick is an experienced guitarist and member of several bands. His other hobbies include skating, seeing live shows, and hiking. His favorite coffee beverage is an oat latte, hot or iced.
Brian Garcia
Brian is the manager of Afficionado's flagship coffee shop in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. Brian brings experience as a multi-location manager in the retail and food & beverage industry. His favorite hobbies are playing basketball and going for long walks in nature. Brian's go-to beverage at the coffee shop is Ginger Pergamino.
Nawal Ezzouhairy
Nawal is Afficionado's Director of Finance. With an extensive background in hospitality and finance, Nawal handles the day to day financial operations of the company. In her free time she loves traveling, watching international soccer and horror films. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite Afficionado beverages are Ginger Pergamino and Ethiopia Hamma Collective.
Keri Gould
Keri started her career as an art and outdoor educator- working in cafes and traveling extensively during school vacations. While living abroad in Russia and South Korea, she built a global perspective on coffee culture. During the Pandemic she started roasting coffee with friends in the industry. In 2024 she joined Afficionado as the Head of Education and Social Program Development, combining her passions of coffee and service. In Keri's free time she explores the latest exhibits at NYC's museums, bikes, and enjoys cooking and trying new beers. A perfect morning for Keri includes sipping a classic cappuccino made with our Liberator beans while reading a good book.
Alex Trojanowski
Alex is Afficionado’s Head Logistics Coordinator. In this role Alex oversees the planning, routing, and transport for all deliveries in the Northeast. He works closely with our restaurants, hotels and offices to ensure all deliveries arrive on time, and with a smile. In his free time Alex enjoys playing sports, weightlifting, hiking, and practicing yoga. Most mornings you can find him drinking a fresh cup of coffee from Nyamasasa, Congo.
Steve Webb
As Head of Ready-to-Drink Beverage Production, Steve is in charge of production, quality control, and outgoing orders for all Magical Cold Brew, Ginger Pergamino and Cascara beverages. Steve's previous industry experience as a coffee and mixology expert makes him an invaluable member to the Afficionado team. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, hiking and foraging, and creating custom herbal teas and tinctures. Steve's favorite coffee is the Ethiopia Hamma Collective and he firmly believes that Ginger Pergamino, is the best ginger ale in the country.
Nancy Almonte
As Afficionado's Receivables and Administrative Director, Nancy brings her strong background in hospitality and human resources to the team. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite way to wind down the day is with an espresso martini.
